Pov From Camera Mount

ACTING: It's totally out of my nature to be menacing in any way. Making me look like an abuser was a challenge. I never claimed to be a "great actor" in any capacity, so I decided to use a POV (point of view) low angle to achieve / project an emotion that I could not (even for a P.S.A). It also helped to mute some stagelights pointing up from the same low angle to achieve a highlighting of face shadows not unlike sticking a flashlight under your face while telling ghost stories around a campfire.

POV CAMERA RIG: The Point of View camera rig (make shift steady cam) was simple enough to make. It consisted of an average over the counter full size camera tripod, a wide leather belt, and a roll of gaffer's tape. It was rather effective. The only draw back was that I could not gesticulate but with one arm at a time, at one point or another the arm I wasn't using had to lay motionless out of frame stabilizing the camera (adding weight to steady the shot). I would use the same technique later on  in Revenge of a Monkey's Uncle to try an experiment to see how a gleeful and happy go lucky expression would translate.
