Phone

A phone rings many times unanswered by a victim. It is not unusual for someone in an abusive relationship to have severed communications with friends and family. Locically "an unanswered phone" was the easiest way to transmit the idea of communication being severed visually. Had second unit not filmed this shot, my choice would have been to have a very eerily slow gradual zoom in to the phone. Most of the time I believe zooms are typically over used, but a gradual barely noticeable zoom may have livened a bit of tension before dropping the next bit of information that I wished the audience to focus on.
