WHAT IS: As this is still in production, there are many details that I do not wish to disclose at this point. However I will say that the idea along with much of the pre-production has been going on since before the "Chaotic Emotion Outlet Music video".
PRODUCTION: To date I have employed every lesson that I have learned throughout the past 10 years or so. Though I have only been producing media for approximately 10 years; I have been writing for about 15. My strongest points to date have been imagination and narrative. Traveler was break from that, an experiment of sorts. After producing the "CEO music video" there was much brainstorming about a commercial around the Boxcrew studio. The concept of a traveler and a few post modern concepts came to breed with a little bit of mythology. Excited about several key concepts the current manifestation of the group at that time decided to push the envelope with the limited tools, money, and technical know how that they had at the time. The attitude at that time was that we could make our own tools, we didn’t have to use money we could just use what we had before us (thus the post modern mad max like concept) and what knowledge we didn’t have at the time we could supplement with information from the internet reverse engineering our favorite movies and learn from getting our hands dirty with experience.
This has been a project that I have taken on for many years. Out of everything that I have ever tried, I believe this to be the most ambitious and most demanding so far. This being said I believe ther is really no Many of the things employed have been: miniature sets, giant robotic puppets, digital effects, sound recording, practical effect/ visual effects, animation, and as you can see the project has been involvined a little bit of everything. Many that have followed this project through the years wonder what might be taking me so long.
The only other words I can give about it right now is “otherworldly” and “psychedelic” and “sound intensive”. Im not really in any hurry, because the more I lean with smaller projects the more I can apply to this a seeming over-ambitious feature at times. I will say one thing: One other hold ups is money. I have been paying out of pocket for this thing for years, even through going through college and even now while paying back ridiculous student loans.
There is no time line for completetion but it it strong in my heart like a disfigurement that can't be taken away with multiple surgeries.
