Chroma Depth Experiment
TITLE: Chroma Depth Experiment
ARTIST: tjparsons
LOCATION CONCEIVED: Columbia, South Carolina
This piece was designed to be viewed with chromadepth glasses. This is the third or fifth one made, with slightly more complex effects. If you are and artist, or maybe your just curious about 3D , I'd highly recommend ordering a development kit for a very modest price . Its lots of fun to experiment and push the limits of this technology. The original pair of glasses that I had (somewhat 15 years ago) came from Taco Bell, and when I was in college I found them in some colorful drawings still entact. So I looked up the company on the side, and found a place to order a kit including more stable glasses and various demos. On a different note while in college I (tjparsons) was told that I was the first person ever to script a website that uses 3D design for the basis of functionality and usability. The entire website was programmed in Chromadepth including effects such as rollovers that came out from the screen and links that had varying degrees of distance from screen to the user depending on hierarchical information and user priorities. At the time my goal was to try to design a practical use for 3D rather than entertainment, or general aesthetics. Who knows, maybe I will make the 3D website an easter-egg on this very site.
